New Pet Game App Helps Animals in Real Life As You Play

‘Animal Rescue Rush’ app to be available on the App Store August 5, 2014.

PITTSBURGH- July 20, 2014 – Animal Rescue Rush is a free iOS game app soon to be available in the App store August 5, 2014 that allows users to help animals in real life while playing the game on their phone. Users can race as different animal characters to conquer levels while money made from advertisements and in-app purchases go to animal rescue and support charities the business has partnered. These include Marley’s Mutts, Black Cat Rescue, North East Animal Shelter, and Cat House on the Kings.

How it Works

To play the Animal Rescue Rush app game, users choose what fun character they want to race as, choose what world they want to beat, then choose if they want to race as a single player and beat the clock or multi-player and race against friends. Users maneuver their pet character through hills and barriers to beat the level before time runs out. They can collect items like boosters, power-ups, and pet treats to go faster and unlock new powers.

The money made from display advertisements and in-app purchases goes to Animal Rescue Rush approved pet charities and humane societies. Users can also click on a ‘donate’ button to donate money to these charities themselves if they so choose as well. These charities include Cat House on the Kings, Black Cat Rescue, Marley’s Mutts, and North East Animal Shelter.

Background and Purpose

The Animal Rescue Rush game was created by founder Ben Murray because he noticed there were hundreds of pet and ‘pet rescue’ game apps available in the App store, but none of these actually helped animals in real life. Although there a few sites and other apps online that donate money to animal causes, none of these were very engaging, entertaining, or made by teams who understand game apps. Ben hopes to inspire other organizations and charities to ‘think outside the box’ when it comes to asking or raising money for a cause you believe in.

The game will be available to download for free from the App Store August 5, 2014. Ben and the team estimate the Android version will be available at the end of August 2014 if all goes as planned.
